Gdynia, Poland. Four hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems, manufactured by Italian firm, Ecospray Technologies, are being installed by Baltec Marine on Peter Pan, the German-owned TT-Line premium RoPax ferry. The estimated delivery time is January 10, 2017.

On 5 January 2017, with EMS Highway's call at the port and its first loading, a new regular Ro-Ro type shipping service between Gdansk and Tilbury was launched, which will call at the Port of Gdansk once a week from now on, in order to pick up Hyundai cars. The service will be operated by vessels of one of the largest shipowners in Europe, specialising in the transport of cars and other rolling cargo, "K" Line European Sea Highway Services (KESS), which is a European short sea shipping operator transporting up to 800,000 cars a year.

On October 28th 2016, the European Commission announced that it would allow Gazprom to use more of the Opal pipeline capacity. As the text of the decision has not been disclosed to the public yet, PGNiG Polish Oil & Gas Company is unable to take any legal steps. This is why today PGNiG has requested the Commission to promptly publish the OPAL decision.

The next 4.5 years will be marked by intensive investment work for the Port of Gdansk Authority SA. Several days ago, we described the detailed scope of projects involving the modernisation and expansion of road and railway infrastructure at the Outer Port. However, this does not exhaust the list of tasks facing the port in the immediate future. As part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Port of Gdansk Authority SA also received funding for the preparation of project and environmental documentation for the expansion and modernisation of core network hubs in terms of road and railway infrastructure on the right bank of the Inner Port (the area of Basen Gorniczy and nabrzeże Przemyslowe). The project in question will be carried out in cooperation with the Gdansk Municipality based on a cooperation agreement concluded between the two parties.

In Q3 2016, LOTOS achieved consolidated EBITDA of PLN 670m and consolidated EBIT of PLN 432m. Net profit rose to PLN 380m, up PLN 154m on the previous quarter. To compare, in Q3 2015 LOTOS reported a consolidated net loss of PLN -249m.

24 October 2016 will undoubtedly go down in history, as on this day two very important events for the future of the maritime industry took place at the Port of Gdansk. The first one was the ceremonial completion of the expansion of the DCT container terminal. The other, an official visit by the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation and the Deputy Minister of Transport of the People's Republic of China, who signed a new agreement on closer Polish-Chinese cooperation in the field of maritime economy.

The Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście recorded nearly three percent growth of cargo handling in the past nine months of the year. In the forefront of cargo types handled are fuels, break bulk and grain. The increased cargo handling is possible due to the operation of the gas terminal and new grain terminals, as well as a continuous increase in traffic in the Świnoujście Ferry Terminal.

The Port of Gdynia closed the three quarters of 2016 with a level of cargo handling of 14.38 million tonnes, which is an increase by 2.2% as compared to the same period of last year.

The *1st MARE FORUM POLAND* was held in Sopot, Poland on 21 September 2016 under the Chairmanship of Apostolos Poulovassilis, Chief Operating Officer of Eletson Corporation. The event was organised by *Mare Forum* under the *Honorary Patronage*of the *Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship* and a wide range of excellent presentations, very good discussions and a positive atmosphere, which resulted in new perspectives and ideas being explored and a conference day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.
