The Port of Gdansk Authority at the Qatar-Poland Economic Forum

On Friday, 6 May 2017, President of the PGA SA Lukasz Greinke and Director for Infrastructure Marcin Osowski presented the project for the construction of the Central Port at the Qatar-Poland Economic Forum. The Forum was organised by the Ministry of Development. The PGA was a participant of the "Investment Opportunities in Poland" panel, joined by the Port of Szczecin, the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, PKP PLK, and PLL LOT.

The 2017 cruise season at the Port of Gdansk officially begins

Nauta will build SIGNIT ship for Swedish Navy

Defence and security company Saab has chosen Nauta Shiprepair Yard based in Gdynia, a part of MARS Shipyards & Offshore Group, to build the ship platform for the special purpose Signal Intelligence (SIGNIT) vessel for the Swedish Navy.

Successful launch of water buses by Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ivory Coast

Ivory Coast authorities recently launched a large transport development programme to modernise the country’s public transport sector. The city of Abidjan has chosen to diversify the transport options available to travellers by ordering water buses to better manage the daily flow of passengers into the Ivorian economic capital.

Delivery of turbines for lake Turkana wind power project completed ahead of schedule

The delivery of 365 Wind Turbine Generators at the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project has been completed. Bolloré Transport & Logistics Kenya subsidiary which was contracted to provide customs clearance and logistics services for the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project transported 365 Wind Turbine Generators in 360 days, 5 days before the scheduled completion date.

Nauta Shipyard starts construction of new longliner

Newbuilding Department of Nauta Shiprepair Yard has begun construction of new fishing vessel. Contract with Norwegian client for building partly outfitted vessel was signed in February 2017.

The Port of Gdansk establishes closer relations with the Belarusian market

New contract for norwegian market in Crist

The shipyard CRIST began work on the unit NB SC 75/2 - fully equipped Life Fish Carrier. Highly automated ship will be used to transport fish from sea farms to the processing plant on land. The purpose of NB SC 75/2 will be to operate in the area of the North Atlantic and the Pacific.

Cargo handling volumes going up in Szczecin and Świnoujście seaports

In February this year, the seaports of Szczecin and Świnoujście handled 7.1% more cargo than in the corresponding period of 2016. The increase has been recorded virtually in all cargo groups.

A record number of passenger ship calls awaits the Port of Gdansk in the 2017 season

The upcoming cruise season at the Port of Gdansk promises to be special. PGA SA expects that in 2017 as many as 67 passenger ships will call at the port, which is more than twice as many as last year. Thanks to this, the number of maritime tourists may reach over 30,000. The size of the passenger vessels will be equally record-breaking. Their average gross tonnage will exceed 24,800 GT, and their average length will increase to 170 m. The previous record was broken in 2009. At the time, the Port of Gdansk welcomed 40 cruise ships, carrying nearly 17,000 passengers on board.
