MacGregor has won a series of deck equipment orders for the Chinese shipbuilder, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd which will be fitted to six newbuilds under construction.
The company said that with this order it is riding on the back of the success of the offshore accommodation and support services market in the Asia Pacific region.
“MacGregor continues to strengthen its position in this market and is one of only a few companies that can deliver low-pressure hydraulic, high-pressure hydraulic and electrically-driven mooring system,” said Francis Wong, vice president segment sales, MacGregor Offshore.
Two 100m 300 person accommodation and work barges will each be kitted out with eight-point mooring systems, with an 85 tonne line pull and 150 tonne brake holding capacity, tugger winches and capstans. These vessels are scheduled for delivery from the second quarter of 2015 through to the third quarter of 2016.
The other four 99.8m accommodation and installation vessels will feature a range of deck machinery with delivery planned from the third quarter of 2015 through to the second quarter of 2016.
