Baltexpo - All About Ships

Shipbuilding industry insiders, maritime economists and officials from port authorities will meet Sept. 6-8 at the 16th Baltexpo International Maritime Exhibition and Conference in the coastal city of Gdańsk.

A total of 200 companies will bring their products and services to Baltexpo and the event will be attended by exhibitors and panelists from over 15 countries, including the United States, Denmark, Italy, Norway, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. Apart from standard topics, such as the shipbuilding industry, ship repairs, equipment, machines, devices and steel structures, a large part of this year\'s Baltexpo will deal with seaport infrastructure, port services, transportation, forwarding, logistics, port security, navigation safety and marine wind power.

The exhibition will be divided into subject sections to help visitors easily and quickly find out what is on display.

The Baltexpo 2011 International Maritime Conference will tackle the following topics:

Europe\'s Shipbuilding Industry: Condition, Prospects, Challenges;
The Future of Seaport Infrastructure in Poland;
Marine Wind Energy and Offshore Industry;
Ports and Navigation Safety and Security in the Baltic Sea Region.

On the last day of the event, outstanding maritime industry products and services will receive Golden Anchor awards. The industry\'s personality of the year will also be chosen.

The grand Baltexpo opening will take place Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Olivia Hall in Gdańsk.
