It is with great pleasure that the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland invite you to The International Conference on Inland Water Transport in Wroclaw, Poland, on 18 – 19 April 2018.

This conference builds on the Ministerial Resolution on Embracing the new era for sustainable inland transport and mobility, adopted by the Ministers at the seventieth anniversary of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee on 21 February 2017. It does this by addressing the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 and emphasizing the importance of the role of inland water transport for the sustainable functioning of national transport systems and its contribution to social and economic development.

The International Conference on Inland Water Transport is aimed at increasing the focus of policy on fostering the role of inland water transport, encouraging countries to maximize the potential of inland waterways and addressing the challenges of sustainable development of mobility with reference to inland water transport.
