Damen Shipyards acquires Oskarshamnsvarvet
The Dutch shipbuilding and repair company has taken over the ship repair and maintenance yard Oskarshamnsvarvet on the south-east cost of Sweden.
The Swedish company has been running since 1863 and is specialized in maintenance and repair of vessels up to 80 m. Apart from a floating dock, Oskarshamnsvarvet operates a slipway covered by a portal crane of 100 tn lifting capacity. The company undergoes also industrial activities, such as specialized crane assembly and the production of special-purpose containers.
Due to the transaction, Damen Shipyards owns now two Swedish yards – Oskarshamnsvarvet and Damen Shiprepair Götaverken on the west coast.
