
DCNS, a world leader in naval defence, signed Memorandum of Understanding with MARS Closed End Investment Fund, a Warsaw based fund managing Mars Shipyards & Offshore Group.
On 9th July in Embassy of France in Warsaw the MoU was signed by Mr. Bernard Planchais, Vicepresident of DCNS and Mr. Piotr Słupski, President of the Manegement Board MARS Closed End Investemnt Fund. The memorandum concerns further cooperation in the field of Naval business, including Submarine Project ORKA for the Polish Navy.
The Partnership with DCNS is a great opportunity not only for MARS group, but for the entire Polish economy. We hope that through cooperation with DCNS we will be involved in the thansfer of technology, which will allow us to gain new skills necessary to build, servicing and repairs different kind of naval ships. Let us remember that participation of the Nauta Shiprepair Yard in the construction of these ships can provide new workplaces not only for the yard but also for suppliers from other parts of industry – said Piotr Słupski shortly after signing of the MoU.
A very important part of cooperation between DCNS and MARS will be a training programs for technical and management staff. It will prepare our employees for participation in projects that require the use of cutting-edge technology.
The offer, which DCNS is prepared jointly with the MARS for the Ministry of Defence, will apply to the building and servicing of three submarines for Polish Navy.

MARS Shipyards & Offshore is a group of closely cooperating shipyard and offshore companies owned by the MARS Closed-End Investment Fund. The fund is managed by the MS Investment Funds Society, a daughter company of the Polish Armament Industrial Group.
