Date of publication: 19.02.2013

In 2012, the Goodman Group delivered over 122,000 sqm of warehouse space in Poland, a significant increase on the 47,000 sqm of developments it completed in 2011. Across continental Europe, 2012 saw the Group finish construction on over 820,000 sqm of new space, compared to 500,000 sqm a year earlier. In Poland, Goodman currently holds sufficient land to develop a further 875,000 sqm of logistics space.

“2012 was an exceptionally good year for us in Poland – we delivered more logistics space to customers than ever before, resulting in our property portfolio in Poland growing to over 266,000 sqm. The customer demand we are experiencing for the key logistics centres we currently have under construction, gives us confidence that this momentum will continue to drive future development activity. In September we commenced construction of the Pomeranian Logistics Centre in Gdańsk, and have recently secured two initial customer pre-commitments. Work is also proceeding on the construction and commercialisation of the 150,000 sqm Kraków Airport Logistics Centre, where a third of the space has already been leased,” says Błażej Ciesielczak, Regional Director Goodman Poland.

The Group delivered 820,000 sqm of new logistics space across 26 developments in six countries. The figures are 64% higher compared with the 2011 calendar year, during which Goodman delivered total completions of 500,000 sqm.

25% of the space delivered in 2012 has been leased to customers from the e-commerce sector, one of the most significant growth drivers for the logistics property market in Europe. Leading examples of projects completed for this sector in 2012 include two logistics centres for Amazon in Germany, having a total of 110,000 sqm in space. These projects highlight Goodman’s leading position in Europe as a developer of, and investor in, logistics facilities for the                e-commerce sector.

Goodman currently has 4 million sqm in logistics assets under management across twelve countries in continental Europe.

Goodman named as number one European developer

Goodman was named as the number one developer in Europe in the March edition of PropertyEU magazine. The ranking is based on completed projects in sqm from 2009 to 2011.
