The West Pomeranian Voivode issued decision No. 77/2023, authorizing the construction of an installation terminal in Świnoujście as part of the investment task: Construction of the transhipment capacity of the sea port in Świnoujście to service the needs of offshore wind energy.


The investment area includes plots no. 244, no. 245/5, no. 246, district 0014 Warszów and the area of internal sea waters on plot no. 1/18, district 0014 Warszów.


The terminal, which plans to start operations in 2025, will become crucial for OWF projects such as Baltic Power.


The construction of the terminal in Świnoujście is an important step towards a sustainable and ecological energy future. It is intended to support not only the Orlen Group's projects, but also to create favorable conditions for other developers carrying out first-phase projects. The investment will directly contribute to increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix and to the development of the West Pomeranian region. The Szczecin and Świnoujście port complex will have the potential to become a key offshore hub in Poland and a strategic center for wind energy exploitation in the Baltic Sea.



Orlen Neptun II and the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority are jointly responsible for the construction of the terminal. The terminal design was prepared by the Wuprohyd design office from Gdynia, specializing in port infrastructure and hydrotechnical structures.



The terminal will be built on a plot of 20 hectares. Its infrastructure will be capable of supporting the largest installation units of 4th generation wind turbines (WTIV).



The land part of the facility will be built on an area of 17 ha. It will include storage areas, communication infrastructure, and an administration and office building.



The investment includes the construction of new quays with a length of approximately 485 meters. A new waterway with a depth of 12.5 m and a width of 140 m will provide easy access to them. The quays will contain ten stations for the initial assembly of wind turbine towers.


Storage yards will be built each year to support up to 80 wind turbines with a capacity of 15 MW each.
