Cathodic protection
Cathodic protection is the most effective method of fighting against corrosion of industrial metal and ferroconcrete constructions, that come in touch with soil, natural waters and which conduct electricity. The above mentioned technology is applied, among others, for wharves, piers, docks, vessels, gas pipelines, heat pipelines, metal tanks, sewage treatment plant elements, chemical apparatus and heat exchangers.

Cathodic protection consists in change in the structure potential by creating a galvanic cell, that is attaching a so-called galvanic anode, made of alloy of a more negative potential than the potential of the structure protected (protection process) or by applying an external source of direct current and an auxiliary anode (protection with the use of cathodic station). In both cases, the anode reaction is transferred from the structure protected onto the sacrificial anode surface or the auxiliary anode.

Sacrificial anodes of Makromor are manufactured only from raw materials of highest purity purchased from specialized suppliers. Only the low level impurities in the materials and precisely selected components allow us to achieve an alloy of excellent electrochemical parameters, which determine the product efficiency. We take great care in achieving the top quality of our products and that is why we check their quality at every significant stage of production. We guarantee that our products will not become an unnecessary burden.

Zinc anodes offered by our company are made of alloys which are in accordance with requirements of the following standards: US Mil - Spec 18001, PN-86/E-05030/05, and DNV RP B401 etc. The main advantage of sacrificial anodes manufactured by our company is their high efficiency of up to 95% and high consumption factor. Anode alloy is made on the basis of high purity zinc (99.995% Zn) of Z1 quality in accordance with PN-EN 1179. Fastening holders are made of galvanized steel of S235JRG2 quality.

Aluminium anodes are made using the highest purity primary aluminium (min. 99,8% Al P0610A , P0507A), including zinc (4% Zn) and indium (0,01-0,03% In). The impurities level does not exceed 0.09 % Fe and 0,01% Cu, which allows to meet the requirements for the following standards: GL-2003, NORSOK STANDARD M-503 and PN-86/05030/05. High current efficiency of aluminium sacrificial anodes allows for more economical design of cathodic protection systems.
