The ports of Gdansk and Gdynia want to be the gateway to Europe, and the city of Zhuhai plans to represent Asia. The revolution has already started in the Baltic Sea - informs "Puls Biznesu".

Pomeranian Special Economic Zone signed an agreement with Chen Honghui, vice-mayor of Zhuhai in Guangdong province, in connection of cooperation between Pomeranian ports and Gaolan port. ‘We will provide logistical support and coach Polish and Chinese exporters. Zhuhai authorities declared port expansion and construction of a logistics center. We also promised a logistics center in Pomerania’ - says Teresa Kaminska, CEO of PSSE.

Chinese wish to attract Polish investors from food, biotechnology and sanitary sector and experience exchange. ‘’This process may take a long time. I do not expect instant results’ – admits PSSE CEO. In her opinion, the Polish ports of Gdynia and Gdansk are already prepared to handle cargo transportation from Asia.

"Now we have to lobby and stand up to competition with other European ports, including Hamburg" - says Teresa Kaminska. Experts praise the initiative of PSSE. "Polish export to China is one-tenth of import from China into Poland. The connection between the ports is a chance for the import, but also - more importantly – for export" - says Janusz Daszczyński, president of ProBusiness Institute and chef of Polish exhibition at the last Expo in Shanghai.
