The 500th LNG tanker truck containing liquefied natural gas loaded by PGNiG at the LNG reloading station in Klaipeda, Lithuania, drove off to the recipient. The dynamics of natural gas sales from that direction is clearly growing.

The total volume of sales from Klaipeda since the first use of the reloading station by PGNiG - from April 2020 - has already exceeded 9 thousand tons of LNG. In the first half of 2021 alone, sales from Klaipeda amounted to 4558 tons of liquefied natural gas, which corresponds to 69 365 MWh of energy.

“The dynamics of our LNG sales from Lithuania is growing. This can be seen on the example of half a thousand loads. During the first year of operation of the Klaipeda station, about 300 tank trucks with our gas left there. And the sale of another 200 loads took us only less than four months,” said Paweł Majewski, President of the PGNiG Management Board. “For part the growing demand for liquefied natural gas is related to the increasing number of LNG regasification stations, of which more than 20 operate in the Podlaskie and Mazowieckie voivodships. These are areas within the range of the station in Klaipeda,” the CEO of PGNiG.

PGNiG is the sole user of the Klaipeda LNG reloading station, which belongs to Klaipedos Nafta. As of today, it had already received six deliveries of liquefied natural gas there. After being reloaded to tanker trucks, LNG is shipped to recipients. Among the contractors is PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, the Group’s retail company, for which LNG loads are carried from Lithuania by tanker trucks belonging to Gas-Trading, also of the PGNiG Group.
