Gdansk Naftoport recorder excellent results in first half of 2018. The terminal moved 8 million tons of cargo, with crude oil taking 6,5 mln tons of this number. This is an increase of 30 and 40 percent respectively, compared to the same period of 2017, when 6 million tonnes were moved, including 4.7 million tonnes of crude oil.

- The company obtained these results primarily through a significant increase in crude oil turnover. There is a high probability of a significant improvement of the last year's terminal result, when 12.5 million tons of crude oil and liquid fuels were handled - informed Piotr Borawski from Gdansk Naftoport.

Crude oil shipments sailed to Naftoport mostly from Middle East, the United States, the North Sea basin and deposits in the Baltic Sea. Much of the oil came from Russia as well.

Naftoport excels in transshipment of crude oil and petroleum products at the Port of Gdansk. The company is an important part of the logistics chain for Polish and German refineries and for transit. It is also vital for land and sea transshipment of petroleum products.

Naftoport infrastructure contains five handling spaces with a loading potential exceeding 44 million tons of liquid fuels per year. An additional advantage is the availability of the Port of Gdansk for biggest ships that can sail into Baltic Sea . The terminal base is adapted to accept biggest of tankers: Aframax, Suezmax and VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier).

Naftoport is one of the most competitive oil terminals in the southern Baltic. The terminal potential is succesfully used by Polish refineries: LOTOS and Orlen.
