Port of Gdynia in 2014 keeps growing!

In 2014 The Port of Gdynia has reached again the best ever results. Cargo handling volume was developed to 19,41 mln ton - new historical record and the net profit The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. reached 110 mln PLN ( abt. 27 mln EUR).

Furthermore, the important factor, influencing abilities to obtain such successful results, remains high scale of investments of The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A., those supporting to maintain competitive position of the port in the Baltic Region.

In the period 2003-2014 The Port of Gdynia Authority S.A. placed abt. 960 mln PLN (abt.260 mln EUR ) invested in port’s modernization (70% in port’s infrastructure). Within the total amount, about 22% was donated by European Funds, mostly by EU Cohesion Fund.

The value of investments planned for the period 2015-2017 is another substantial amount of 610 mln PLN (abt.153 mln EUR). The port’s infrastructure will be again the major beneficiary (89%) while abt.11% should be dedicated to construction and modernization of the stacking area, warehouses and office space.

The main strategic goals for the Port of Gdynia are: to improve port’s facilities enabling accommodation of ocean going container vessels, to keep high position of Gdynia as important ferry/ro-ro Baltic port and  to strengthen port’s universal character with growing logistics/warehousing capacity.
