Gdynia Cristal Shipyard launched (07.11) partially equipped offshore construction support vessel (CSV) equipped with dynamic DP2 positioning system. Next day vessel NB 308 left Gdynia and went to its owner - Dutch operator Acta Marine.

NB 308 was built for Ulstein Vert AS shipyard from Norway, where its construction will be completed. The vessel will be put into operation in early 2018. It will be used in the construction, assembly and maintenance of offshore wind farm.

The ship is 93.4 meters long and 18 meters wide. Unit was based on the SX195 Ulstein Design & Solutions AS project. Vessel will be equipped with communication platform with dynamic motion compensation provided by SMTs. System will be mounted on a column with an integrated height adjustment system, elevator for staff and small loads. In addition, the ship will be equipped with a 3D-displacement crane with a lifting capacity of 6 tons. The surface of the unit is 500 m2 under deck and 500 m2 on deck.

Hull, both the aft and fore parts of the vessel was constructed according to the X-Bow / X-Stern concept. Thanks to it, the ship consumes less energy and maintains its position when entering the waves. This improves the comfort of the crew working on board and facilitates tasks - the ship will employ 120 people.
