The project for the construction of a production plant for foundations to be used for offshore wind turbines was awarded a silver medal at the “Safe Site“ competition (“Buduj bezpiecznie“). The jury was particularly impressed with the work-organization and attention to safety at the construction site.
Participation in the competition was proposed by the Construction Supervisor, who visited the site each month. Among other things, the jury praised the concept and implementation of an occupational health and safety plan, management of the construction site as well as coordination and control of health and safety regulations.
Construction sites that had experienced serious or fatal accidents were excluded from taking part in the competition. The construction site on Ostrów Brdowski was particularly praised for the safety instruction for all works conducted by contractors and subcontractors, as well as for its standardized system for providing information about dangerous areas.
The competition was organized by the State Labour Inspection and Regional Labour Inspectorates. The honorary awards were presented as part of a celebration at the Pleciuga Theater on November 17, 2014.
The objective of the competition is to promote safe and hygienic work-conditions at construction sites and to support construction contractors that make every effort to ensure that their workplaces are safe. The ultimate goal is to positively impact work-safety at construction sites throughout the country.
