The WIND and WATER on Water Boat Show and and Yachting Festival was organized for the first time in 2006 in Sopot. Since 2007 it has been organized in Gdynia – Poland’s Sailing Capital. The city of Gdynia is a partner city of the Boat Show. The honorary patron of the event is Wojciech Szczurek – the President of Gdynia, “ŻAGLE” monthly magazine is the Boat Show’s partner. The WIND and WATER in Gdynia is organized by YACHT EXPO and Murator EXPO.

The main aim of WIND and WATER in Gdynia is to promote the idea of sea sailing and water sports, while giving the enthusiasts of water-based recreation an opportunity to assess the quality of yachts, motor boats and sports equipment in their natural environment – on water.

Each year in the middle of summer, visitors can see offers of more than 120 companies presenting over 120 yachts and motor boats in Marina Gdynia. This event hosts the producers and distributors offering sailing, motor boat, diving and canoeing equipment, rescue and safety equipment, as well as tourist, sports and recreation clothing. Charter and boat race organizers, as well as yachting media are also present.

Apart from expositions of exhibitors, the WIND and WATER on Water Boat Show and Yachting Festival include many additional attractions and events such as: spectacular WOPR (Volunteer Lifeguards Association) rescue shows and rescue actions with dogs, kayaking shows prepared by the WIOSŁO Kayaking Magazine, lectures, talks, meetings with water sports champions.

The WIND and WATER on Water Boat Show includes the ceremony of the President of the City of Gdynia Award closing the GDYNIA YACHT DESIGN competition, announced specially for the Fair. The aim of the competition is to find and honour the most beautiful sailing yacht and motor yacht presented at the Boat Show.

Furthermore, the Boat Show features the announcement of the nominations in the competition “Jacht Roku w Polsce – Polish Yacht of the Year”, organized by the water sports magazine “ŻAGLE”.
