Date of publication: 06.06.2023

On Friday, June 2, a ship owned by Viasea called at Gdynia Container Terminal for the first time.

Energy container ship, which appeared in GCT on Friday, is one of two that will run regularly on the new short-sea service operated by Viasea lines. Ships from Gdynia will sail to Oslo, Moss, Immingham, Moerdijk, again to Oslo and Moss, then to Klaipeda and again to Gdynia. According to the shipowner, thanks to proper coordination, the service also enables transhipment to the Iberian Peninsula and Ireland.

The new shortsea service from GCT is focused on 45-foot containers. Viasea ships will arrive at the Gdynia terminal once a week - on Fridays. These will be JSP Carla with a length of nearly 140 meters and 9193 DWT and Energy with a length of 135 meters and 9368 DWT. Both sail under the flag of Madeira.

Viasea is a Norwegian independent shipping line with its own fleet of ships and container equipment. The airlines focus on short-distance connections and multimodal transport to and from ports in Europe, thus offering door-to-door service.
