The naval shipyard PGZ Stocznia Wojenna in Gdynia has recently completed one of the largest modernization programs in its history. New production and office halls were constructed, while roads and storage areas were rebuilt, significantly improving the shipyard’s operational and logistical capabilities. The general contractor for the project is Grupa NDI.
In March 2026, it marks three years since NDI began demolition works for three major investment projects within the shipyard. Over this period, NDI has delivered new buildings, production halls, office spaces, and over 50,000 m² of modern surfaces, enhancing efficiency, supporting growth, and boosting innovation across the site.

Hull Hall – flagship facility
The most notable achievement is the Hull Hall (Hala Kadłubowa), standing 46 metres high, equipped with large-scale gates and cranes with a 100-ton capacity, enabling the assembly of frigate hulls for the Polish Navy under the “Miecznik” program. The hall is one of the largest and tallest of its kind in Europe.
Another key facility is the Production Hall, covering nearly 5,000 m², complemented by a new social and administrative building. The shipyard area was reorganized, including quays, storage yards, and internal roads, improving logistics and access across the site.
“The Hull Hall and Production Hall were our first major deliveries. They now significantly enhance the production and technological capabilities of the shipyard. Constructing in a facility whose origins date back to 1938 presented many challenges – both structural and organizational – especially as the shipyard remained operational throughout the works,” explains Przemysław Młynarczyk, NDI Construction Manager.

Expansion of storage and logistics capabilities
NDI also developed additional cubature buildings, including a 3,300 m² Warehouse Hall, storage areas, and internal roads. The project involved comprehensive site development, combining road infrastructure construction with all associated utilities.
The third major task was the conversion of part of Hall A-11 into a logistics centre, expanded with a tracer room, where full-scale design templates are transferred onto steel sheets to prepare elements for production. Part of Hall A-9 was renovated and adapted for technological needs. All buildings were equipped with sanitary, electrical, and telecommunication installations, with delivery and installation of all necessary equipment included.
These works collectively transform PGZ Stocznia Wojenna into a modern, technologically advanced shipyard, ready to support Poland’s naval fleet development and long-term strategic projects.
