New CMA CGM service now operating at Baltic Hub. First vessels arrive at the Gdańsk terminal
Date of publication: 07.08.2025

At the end of July, the first containership under the Scandinavia West Coast Express (SWX) service, operated by the French carrier CMA CGM, called at Baltic Hub. The new weekly connection is intended to improve supply chain handling capabilities and strengthen the role of the Port of Gdańsk as a key logistics hub in the Baltic Sea region.

The SWX service was inaugurated late last month by the containership Enforcer, sailing under the Dutch flag. The vessel is 135 meters long, 21 meters wide, with a capacity of 750 TEU.

SWX is a direct link between Scandinavia and the southern Baltic with the rotation: Gothenburg – Aarhus – Klaipeda – Gdańsk – Gothenburg. The French carrier has emphasized that SWX will also provide connections with Short Sea Services in Gdańsk and Klaipeda, as well as with CMA CGM Far East services in Gdańsk. The link between Aarhus and Gothenburg with Poland and Lithuania is expected to serve as a more ecological and sustainable alternative to road transport, while also ensuring strong connectivity with CMA CGM’s Far East services calling at Baltic Hub.

The launch of this new service calling at Gdańsk means even more CMA CGM vessels operating in the port. In January this year, the carrier also introduced a modified Baltic Express feeder service, including Finnish, Latvian, and Polish ports in its rotation. Since August 2023, the Gdańsk port has also been included in the French Asia Line 1 (FAL1) service, under which containerships regularly connect Asian and European ports.
