Polskie Linie Oceaniczne S.A. (Polish Ocean Lines), a company within the Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu (Industrial Development Agency Capital Group), is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The occasion provided an opportunity for commemorative meetings and reflection on the past, while also outlining plans for the future. The company is implementing its development strategy for 2025–2030 and, alongside summarising its achievements to date, is presenting directions for further transformation and expansion.

The company’s new strategy includes, among other things, the development of its fleet based on dual-use vessels. This is complemented by strengthening the specialised shipping segment and expanding ship supply services. It should be recalled that last year, during the 23rd International Maritime and Military Fair BaltExpo in Gdańsk, Polish Ocean LinesRemontowa Shipbuilding S.A., and Baltic Industrial Group signed a letter of intent concerning the construction of cabotage vessels. The objective is to build and deliver two such units in a Polish shipyard.

– Industrial Development Agency is not only the majority shareholder, but above all a strategic partner of PLO. This ownership structure provides us with a unique opportunity to pursue a stable, long-term development policy for PLO based on the Polish national interest – emphasised Bartłomiej Babuska, President of ARP S.A.

Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A.

PLO has been building competencies in shipping and maritime-related services for decades. Currently, the company is developing its operational activities, shipchandling services, and highly complex logistics projects, including supply deliveries to the Polish Polar Station in Spitsbergen, carried out in cooperation with the Institute of Geophysics Polish Academy of Sciences. As a strategic investor, ARP S.A. supports PLO in building a modern business model that responds both to market needs and to challenges related to state security and the development of the maritime economy.

At present, the company operates ro-ro tonnage in the form of the vessels POL Stella and Francesco Nullo, which are employed on the charter market between Turkish and Italian ports. In addition, a dedicated division of the company, POL-Supply Shipchandler, provides food, technical, hotel, and other supplies. By servicing key shipowners calling at Polish ports in Gdynia, Gdańsk, and Szczecin, POL-Supply Shipchandler has established a significant position in this segment, with a market share of approximately 25%.
