On 20 October, the cruise season at the Port of Gdańsk came to an end. The last passenger vessel of the season was the cruise ship Hamburg, sailing under the flag of the Bahamas.
Hamburg is a 144-meter-long cruise ship built in 1997, with a tonnage of 15,000 tons. It can carry nearly 500 passengers. The ship spent around eight hours in Gdańsk, during which some of its passengers went sightseeing around the city. Afterwards, the vessel continued on its cruise route.
This call marked the end of an intensive season, during which cruise ships visited Gdańsk as many as 60 times. A total of 29 vessels arrived, 16 of which called more than once. The most frequent visitor was the ship Clio, appearing seven times. Hamburg itself moored twice at the Westerplatte Quay this year, most recently in May.
The largest cruiser to visit the Port of Gdańsk in 2025 was the 250-meter-long Crystal Serenity.
The Port of Gdańsk is one of the most important cruise destinations in the Baltic region. It is estimated that the port’s infrastructure can accommodate up to 120 cruise ship calls per year. The record year in terms of the number of calls was 2022, when as many as 79 cruise ships arrived at the Port of Gdańsk (carrying 29.5 thousand passengers).
