Two Russian fighter jets carried out a low flyover of Petrobaltic’s platform in the Baltic Sea, the Border Guard reported on Friday evening.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon. Katarzyna Przybysz, spokeswoman for the Commander of the Maritime Unit of the Border Guard, told Polish Press Agency that the jets flew within the area of the extraction platform belonging to Orlen Petrobaltic, violating the safety zone.
“It was in the area of the exclusive economic zone. We were (…) informed to increase vigilance and respond to any other offenses that might concern violations of the state border. That did not happen, so we did not have to react,” she explained.
The Border Guard emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and other services were notified about the incident.
