Bulk Cargo-Port Szczecin has announced that a vessel carrying 10,500 tons of aluminum was handled at the Chorzowskie Quay in the Port of Szczecin. It was one of the largest operations of this type in recent times, demonstrating the terminal’s capabilities in handling bulk metal deliveries.

Aluminum is one of the key raw materials for many industries, with applications in construction, automotive manufacturing, and the energy sector.

At the same time, infrastructure investments are being carried out in the port. Recently, the Katowickie Quay underwent modernization, which increased its operational capabilities. Thanks to works implemented under the program run by the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority, the facility will be able to accommodate larger vessels – both in terms of draft and tonnage.

Bulk Cargo – Port Szczecin Sp. z o.o. is one of the largest port operators in Western Pomerania, specializing in the handling and storage of bulk, general, and containerized cargo. The company has modern port infrastructure and continually invests in technological development, responding to the changing needs of the market and its customers.

Last year, Rhenus Group – the majority shareholder of Bulk Cargo – acquired 98.5% of the company’s shares, paving the way for further development of operations in Szczecin and for increasing its role in managing environmentally friendly supply chains.
