A new, special episode of "The Grand Tour" has appeared on the Amazon Prime streaming platform, the footage for which were shot, among others, at on board the Polferries ferry.


"The Grand Tour" is an automotive program hosted by former stars of "Top Gear" and at the same time some of the biggest stars of pop culture - Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. In the latest episode entitled "Eurocrash", which was published on the Amazon Prime platform, the gentlemen travel in unique cars, through countries of the region, including Poland.


The first scenes of the new episode were recorded on board the Nova Star ship - the Polferries ferry, sailing regularly between Gdańsk and Nynashamn in Sweden. At a table in the on-board Piano Bar, Clarkson, Hammond and May discuss the planned route in three unique cars. The program also includes shots taken at the Port of Gdańsk, where the characters discuss the unusual vehicles they used to travel. Then the three travel the entire region, starting from Gdańsk, through Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia, experiencing numerous adventures in their own style.


Shooting for the program was carried out in the summer of 2022. The recordings made in Poland were extensively covered by the automotive media in the country.




Polferries vessels have appeared on screens before. In last year's famous film "F_cking Bornholm" you can also see scenes shot in the Piano Bar on Nova Star and shots of the Mazovia ferry.

Numerous episodes of many entertainment shows for television and published on the Internet were also filmed on the shipowner's ferries, music videos of Polish artists and scenes for Polish cinema productions were also shot on board in previous years.


The Nova Star ferry also hosts an industry conference every year organized by Gospodarka Morska. This year, the Cruise with Maritime Economy - a conference at sea will be held on September 25-27.
