The 250 km Gdańsk - Gustorzyn gas pipeline has successfully passed the mandatory In-line Inspection (ILI). This confirms high quality of the construction works carried out throughout the entire route. The positive result of the inspection constitutes a major milestone in the implementation of the onshore component of the FSRU Programme.

The inspection consisted of running a special inspection tool, equipped with sensors and other electronic devices (commonly known as a ‘smart pig’), through the inside of the gas pipeline. This method allows for a detailed assessment of the pipeline's technical condition and detection of even the tiniest anomalies. The results confirmed the high quality of the completed construction works. The positive outcome of the inspection represents an important milestone in the construction of the trunkline, which will eventually enable the transport of natural gas from the FSRU Terminal currently under construction in the Gulf of Gdańsk, to the transmission system and then to customers across Poland and the region.

The onshore component of the FSRU Programme is currently finalising the linear part of this investment  project. This includes, amongst other things, land reclamation, restoration of the drainage system, marking out the gas pipeline route, and works on the above-ground facilities.

Support from the NRRP

In June 2025, GAZ-SYSTEM signed a loan agreement with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego for a total amount of PLN 2.2 billion for the construction of the onshore component of the FSRU Programme, i.e. the Gdańsk - Gustorzyn gas pipeline. The loan is financed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The successful result of the pipeline In-line Inspection means that the Company has met all  the conditions of the NRRP program.
