Date of publication: 21.10.2025

Mostostal Pomorze has begun cutting steel plates for a new offshore wind project. The contract covers the delivery of 13 steel blocks with a total weight of 2,846 tonnes. The client is one of the largest and most technologically advanced shipyards in the world.

Under the agreement, the company will produce steel blocks for two 2-gigawatt HVDC offshore substations. The projects, located in the German sector of the North Sea, will enable the connection of offshore wind farms to the national transmission grid. With a combined transmission capacity of 4 GW, they can deliver enough energy to power a city the size of Berlin. The end customer is one of Europe’s leading transmission system operators.

“We are proud to have been selected as a subcontractor for this project. Signing this contract confirms that Mostostal Pomorze is a trusted and valued partner in the offshore wind sector,” emphasized Arkadiusz Aszyk, CEO of Mostostal Pomorze.

Mostostal Pomorze’s scope of work includes prefabrication and assembly of steel structures, anti-corrosion protection, and loading operations, together with the development of the loading methodology. Project completion is scheduled for April 2027.

“After several years of intensive work on offshore oil & gas projects, we are now participating in a major investment in the offshore wind sector. Our experience in delivering projects that meet strict quality and safety requirements allows us to actively support Europe’s energy transition,” the CEO added.

Mostostal Pomorze is a recognised manufacturer of large-scale steel structures. For more than 25 years, the company has carried out projects for the offshore industry, including the oil & gas sector, drilling platforms, subsea installations, and offshore wind. The firm also produces structures and installations for the petrochemical and refinery industry, as well as for construction, infrastructure, and shipbuilding.
