The 190-metre bulk carrier Podlasie, owned by Polska Żegluga Morska, is currently loading at the Gdańsk bulk terminal operated by GBT Gdańsk. Cargo operations are under way, with the vessel’s holds being filled with maize. The shipper is Bunge Polska, one of the country’s leading grain exporters.
According to GBT, loading is progressing smoothly and prevailing weather conditions are not affecting operations, allowing the terminal to maintain standard cargo-handling performance.
GBT Gdańsk specialises in the handling of bulk cargoes, with a particular focus on agricultural commodities. Operations are conducted at the Bytom Quay, which can accommodate vessels with a draught of up to approximately 10 metres, a beam of 33 metres and an overall length of up to 190 metres.
Cargo-handling activities are supported by modern infrastructure, including automated flat storage warehouses and grain silos with a combined capacity of 55,000 tonnes. The terminal manages both import and export flows, serving domestic and international supply chains.
GBT is also equipped with grain drying technology, as well as a fully operational laboratory capable of conducting rapid and precise cereal quality analyses, ensuring compliance with contractual and phytosanitary requirements.
