Construction works on the T5 terminal at the Port of Gdańsk continued in March, bringing the project closer to the commissioning of this modern infrastructure. As representatives of Istrana emphasised on social media, the terminal is set to play a key role in the development of Poland’s offshore sector and strengthen Gdańsk’s position within the maritime economy.
In the past month, progress included:
– completion of quay piling works, including the Ro-Ro quay,
– continued reinforced concrete works on the Outbound and Inbound quays,
– commencement of concreting works on the first sections of the temporary quay,
– obtaining an amended construction permit (currently in the process of becoming legally binding).
Further preparatory works are scheduled for the coming months, including:
– removal of selected surcharge embankments,
– ground improvement works to support future terminal operations,
– concreting of additional sections of both temporary and permanent quays,
– installation works and material approvals.

The T5 terminal is one of the most significant investments supporting the development of offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea. Its commissioning will provide essential logistics infrastructure for offshore projects and contribute to the region’s energy transition. The terminal’s anchor users will be PGE and Ørsted, which are jointly delivering the Baltica 2 project.
In addition, Ocean Winds has signed a reservation agreement enabling the use of T5 for the BC-Wind project – an offshore wind farm scheduled to enter operation, for example, in 2028.
The terminal is being developed by Istrana, a special-purpose vehicle established by the Polish Development Fund (85%) and Baltic Hub (15%). Construction works are being carried out by NDI S.A. under contract to Istrana. Completion of the T5 terminal is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
