The container terminal Baltic Hub, located in Port of Gdańsk, handled 291,918 TEU, achieving the highest monthly container throughput in its history. This result is also 9% higher than the previous record set in October 2025.
As the terminal announced on LinkedIn, this achievement was made possible, among other factors, by the successful commissioning of the new T3 terminal last year. It significantly increased handling capacity and operational flexibility. Infrastructure development remains one of Baltic Hub’s key priorities. In the second half of the year, two new RMG cranes will be brought into operation, further enhancing rail handling capacity and strengthening integration between maritime and intermodal transport.
The previous handling record was set in October last year. During operations involving the vessel OOCL Japan, 20,962 TEU were handled at that time. Notably, on 10 October, the terminal surpassed 25 million TEU handled since the beginning of its operations. The growth in volume confirms its strategic role as a key transshipment hub in Poland, also linking the Central and Eastern European region with global supply chains.
In 2025, the terminal handled a total of 2,767,287 TEU across operations involving 763 vessels, of which 265 were ocean-going ships. Statistics indicate that this represents a 23.4% increase compared to the previous year, when 2,242,401 TEU were handled. As a result, last year marked the highest annual throughput in the terminal’s history.
A key factor behind these figures was the aforementioned opening of the T3 container quay, officially inaugurated in June 2025, although the first vessels had already been handled there earlier. This expansion increased capacity by 1.5 million TEU, bringing the total to 4.5 million TEU. As a result, 2026 may raise the bar even further and potentially end with another record-breaking performance.
