Date of publication: 04.09.2023

Vulcan Training & Consultancy, a leading training center for the Oil & Gas and Wind Energy sectors, announces the opening of a new and innovative fire training ground. This commercial facility, unique in both Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, is designed to provide top-quality training for firefighting teams on ships and offshore Oil & Gas installations.

The fire training ground will be fully ready for training sessions later this year, with its official opening, Fire Field, scheduled for September 7th at 18:00, as part of Vulcan Training & Consultancy's 5th anniversary gala. The opening will feature a demonstration of courses, where a helicopter model will be literally "set on fire."

"The most important element of the new ground is a full-sized helideck, which served as an active helicopter landing pad on a ship. The helideck was dismantled and transported to Szczecin so that trainees can experience the most authentic infrastructure possible. A helicopter simulator, designed in-house by VTC staff, has been placed on the landing pad, offering a variety of fire scenarios," emphasized Łukasz Fajt, Managing Director of Vulcan Training & Consultancy.

This isn't the only simulator. Another is a helicopter turned on its side, where evacuation simulations will take place from a crashed and overturned machine. The Fire Field infrastructure will include a wide range of fire scenarios. Thanks to such equipped space, trainees will be able to practice on a realistic landing pad with real flames, in highly realistic fire scenarios.

Another unique element of the fire training ground will be a former shipyard pumping station, which is an ideal place for practical exercises. Participants in these exercises will have to deal with difficulties related to evacuation in challenging conditions, such as dense cosmetic smoke, a maze of pipes and valves, and the use of gas technology in fire simulations.

Vulcan Training & Consultancy has been operating for 5 years, attracting trainees from around the world. Now, it is expanding its offerings with a modern fire training ground. Offering training in line with the strictest OPITO standards across 16 accreditation areas, Vulcan Training & Consultancy is a unique center in Poland.
