COSCO Strengthens Presence in Polish Ports with New Feeder Service to Gdynia
Date of publication: 09.06.2026

In the first week of June, a new feeder service, GGS (Greater Gulf Service), was launched at the Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia. The service is operated by COSCO Shipping in cooperation with Diamond Line, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Lines Europe GmbH.

The new service complements the carrier’s existing network, providing COSCO Shipping customers with two weekly feeder calls to major European transhipment hubs. According to BCT, this will translate into greater operational flexibility and more efficient cargo handling.

The expanded network will also provide improved access to global deep-sea services serving, among other destinations, the Middle East, the Mediterranean region, the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and West Africa. In addition, the new service will include connections to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Aqaba in Jordan.

The launch of the GGS service forms part of COSCO Shipping’s broader expansion strategy in Poland. As previously reported, the carrier has also announced the launch of its second direct ocean service, AEU7, at the end of August this year. The service will become COSCO Shipping Lines’ first direct connection from Poland to Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The introduction of the new feeder service in Gdynia, together with the forthcoming direct ocean service to Gdańsk, confirms the growing importance of Polish ports within global supply chains. At the same time, it strengthens the position of the Tricity area as one of the leading logistics and container hubs in the Baltic Sea region.

According to BCT, the launch of the GGS service and the increase in call frequency represent another step in the terminal’s operational development and further reinforce the position of the Port of Gdynia as an important link in the global transport network.
