JW Steel Construction Awarded Significant Offshore Wind Contract by Dajin Offshore for Nordseecluster B Project
Date of publication: 27.03.2026

JW Steel Construction (JWSC), a privately-owned Polish specialist in offshore steel fabrication, has been awarded a major contract by Dajin Offshore to support the 1.6-GW Nordseecluster offshore wind project of RWE (51%) and Norges Bank Investment Management (49 %). The partnership with JW Steel Construction represents a critical step in Dajin’s long-term strategy to integrate deeply with the European supply chain, utilizing local expertise to deliver high-capacity renewable energy projects.

Scope of Work and Industrial Execution

The contract focuses on the construction and low-voltage electrical outfitting of secondary steel structures. These components are vital for safe technician access to the interior of the towers and turbines from sea-level service vessels.

Production has officially commenced at JWSC’s 50,000 m² facility in Szczecin, utilizing its direct access to shipyard infrastructure for efficient vessel transport. The technical scope includes over 2,500 tonnes of high-precision structures including:

• 30 Main Access Platforms (External Platforms), each weighing over 38 tonnes,

• 60 Boat Landing systems, each weighing over 24 tonnes.

Economic Impact and Local Value Creation

This partnership underscores Dajin’s commitment to an "attractive cost base" and high-quality fabrication within Poland.

• This contract represents a significant investment in the West Pomeranian industrial sector,

• The project will support approximately 150 local jobs, including specialized welding, engineering, and electrical roles at the Szczecin site,

• Technical Knowledge Transfer: The project is supported by a dedicated team of Polish offshore experts from Dajin, ensuring a seamless exchange of global engineering standards and local manufacturing excellence.

Strengthening the European Supply Chain

By partnering with JWSC, Dajin is addressing the capacity bottlenecks currently challenging Europe’s offshore wind ambitions. This collaboration follows years of preparation and successful prior deliveries for projects like the Thor offshore wind farm in Denmark.

"The contract with JW Steel Construction is further proof of how well Dajin cooperates with companies in Europe," said Adam Kowalski, Dajin’s Head of Supply Chain Management. "This is an example of successful cooperation with a private Polish company that provides the capability and reliability needed to make our clients' business cases fly."

The first phase of the 1.6-GW Nordseecluster is currently under construction in the German North Sea and will be commissioned early 2027. The second expansion phase - Nordseecluster B - moves toward commercial operation in early 2029, this partnership reinforces Poland’s position as a strategic hub for the North and Baltic Sea energy transition.
