Ocean Winds signs agreement with Cadeler for turbine installation at BC-Wind offshore wind farm

Cadeler has signed a binding agreement with Ocean Winds for the transport and installation of 26 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW offshore wind turbines at the BC-Wind offshore wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea.

The signing of this binding agreement follows the Vessel Reservation Agreement (VRA) concluded in February 2025 between Cadeler and Ocean Winds. Once fully completed, BC-Wind will have a total capacity of up to 390 MW, providing clean electricity to nearly half a million Polish households. The project is located approximately 23 km off the Polish coast, north of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is Ocean Winds’ first project in Poland and will play a key role in the country’s ambitious offshore wind development plans.

Installation is scheduled to begin in 2028 and will last around four months. Cadeler will deploy one of its O-class wind turbine installation vessels and operate out of the Port of Gdańsk, Poland.

Cadeler and Ocean Winds have collaborated before, most recently on the Moray West offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland, but this agreement marks their first direct contractual partnership.

Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler, commented:
“By signing this binding agreement, we are ready to provide Ocean Winds with our best-in-class fleet and experienced crews to support this important project. Poland is strengthening its position as a key offshore wind market in Europe, and this project will be a significant step in advancing the country’s renewable energy ambitions. We look forward to expanding our presence in the Polish Baltic Sea, building on the strong portfolio of projects we have already secured in this region.”

Strong position in the Polish offshore wind market

This project confirms Cadeler’s strong position in the Polish offshore wind market and represents a natural continuation of four other key projects in Cadeler’s Polish development plan.

In July this year, Cadeler began installation works on the Baltic Power project, which will become Poland’s first offshore wind farm. Operating out of the port of Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm, Cadeler is handling the transport and installation of 76 Vestas 15 MW turbines. With a capacity of 1.2 GW, the project will be able to power more than 1.5 million households with green energy once fully commissioned next year.

In February 2024, Cadeler signed an agreement with Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna for the transport and installation of Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines at Baltica 2, part of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. Project completion is scheduled for the end of 2027.

In October 2024, Cadeler signed binding agreements with Equinor and Polenergia’s joint venture companies for the installation of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms, which are expected to be commissioned in 2027.
