OT Port Świnoujście will expand the AGRO terminal
Date of publication: 20.11.2023

OT Port Świnoujście and POL INVEST PROJECTS signed an agreement regarding the expansion of the AGRO terminal with a technological line and the delivery of a loading device for ships. Thanks to the investment, the annual transhipment capacity of grain at OT Port Świnoujście will exceed two million tons. The investment value will reach PLN 40 million.

- The conclusion of the contract is an extremely important event for the development of the OT Logistics Capital Group, especially in the face of the growing demand for transshipment of agro goods in Polish ports. This is also another step that significantly contributes to the transformation of OTPŚ into one of the most modern terminals that handle grain reloading in a completely automated manner. Thanks to the investment, the annual reloading capacity for agro products at OT Port Świnoujście will exceed two million tons, and the loading rate offered in this respect will be the highest on the Polish market - says Kamil Jedynak, President of OT Logistics.

Based on the signed contract, POL INVEST PROJECTS will be responsible for the expansion of the AGRO terminal in the „design and build” system. The investment will be implemented at the Chemików Quay. The terminal will gain a technological line and a ship loading device, which will be connected to the existing modern flat warehouse with infrastructure for handling wagons and cars. The expansion is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2025.

- For some time now we have been observing an upward trend in the area of agro product logistics, which will be an impulse for the development of Polish terminals in the coming years. We are noticing increased demand for reloading of products from this segment and we are adapting our reloading and storage capacity to be able to handle it. The trend is caused, on the one hand, by an increase in domestic production, which, combined with a simultaneous decline in internal consumption, makes it necessary to direct the surplus to foreign markets - and, on the other hand, by an increase in the volume of grain transit from Ukraine, which must be handled, among others, through Polish ports – adds Kamil Jedynak.

Through its investment program, the OT Logistics Group increases the competitiveness of ports, increases their efficiency and reduces operating costs. Investment decisions are also aimed at increasing the universality of the Group's ports, reducing their dependence on the economic situation in individual commodity groups.
