Peter Pan ferry on its way to TT-Line
Date of publication: 02.02.2023

At the Ferry Terminal in Świnoujcie, the TT-Line ferry lines are already anticipating the arrival of the second Green Ship Peter Pan ferry. It is scheduled that the unit will arrive at the site on February 19 at 11:15 p.m., and that the first entry of the ship is scheduled between 2 p.m and 4 p.m. the following day.

Green Ship Peter Pan docked at the Skandinavienkai Quay in Travemünde for the first time on January 23, 2023. With the addition of the second Green Ship, TT-Line now has nine ships in its fleet. The first official cruise of the Peter Pan ferry from Travemünde to Trelleborg took place on January 31, but from February 20 it will regularly call at the port of Świnoujście. The extended 53-day voyage of the ferry from the shipyard in China to Europe made it possible to thoroughly check the ship's seaworthiness in various weather conditions and fine-tune all its capabilities for operation in the Baltic Sea.

– The Peter Pan ferry can accommodate 800 passengers and over 200 freight units. In the same way as the sister ferry Nils Holgersson, the interior design of Peter Pan was primarily inspired by Scandinavian influences. A total of 245 cabins are available on the Green Ship, each of which is modern, spacious, and comfortable. For parents with children, the Green Ship crossing will be a real sea adventure - says Aneta Wencel, the Managing Director of TT-Line Polska.

The new Green Ship is the sixth ship in the company's history to be named Peter Pan. The fifth generation Peter Pan is currently operated under the name Tinker Bell and remains in the TT-Line fleet and regularly calls at the port of Świnoujście. In 2018, Tinker Bell was rebuilt and extended by 30 meters, reducing emissions per freight unit by up to 25%.

TT-Line is pleased not only with the increase in transport capacity but also with the fact that the shipowner's fleet is becoming more and more environmentally friendly through extensive modernization of the remaining vessels.

– Environmental awareness is a major concern at TT-Line. We have been working to improve our environmental performance for years. That is why we are proud to have been able to integrate our two new ferries Nils Holgersson and Peter Pan with the rest of the vessels. This was done during the year. This has significantly improved the carbon footprint of our fleet, explains Bernhard J. Termühlen, the Managing Director.

As the most environmentally friendly ferries in the company's history, Green Ships - Peter Pan and Nils Holgersson, which will be commissioned in April 2022 - are committed to providing customers with a comfortable and sustainable ferry experience. Over 90% of the ships' environmentally friendly, latest-generation technical solutions come from European manufacturers, in addition to LNG fuels. The Green Ferries are equipped with energy-efficient air-conditioning and heat recovery systems. LED light sources provide up to 80% less energy consumption. The innovative program, based on artificial intelligence, adjusts the ship's speed to be the most economically efficient. It takes into account weather conditions, draft, fuel consumption, and the estimated time of arrival at port.

– Our goal and obligation are to meet the increased demand for transport services in the most ecological, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient way possible. As part of our sustainable investments, we do not stop with the commissioning of Green Ship Peter Pan, but continue to improve the environmental efficiency of our entire fleet - added Aneta Wencel, the Managing Director of TT-Line Polska.
