The Gdańsk-based Safe shipyard is currently carrying out repairs on the 88-meter cargo vessel Isartal. Built in 2005, the ship is undergoing comprehensive work using the yard’s infrastructure.

According to Safe, the contract for the repair of Isartal includes both dry-dock operations—such as a full inspection of the vessel’s bottom and sides, cleaning, painting, and assessment of the hull’s technical condition—as well as its maintenance, including anti-corrosion protection. The project involves replacing a total of around 40 tonnes of steel as part of repairs to the hull structure and deck elements, as well as upgrading pipelines and deck equipment, enabling the vessel to meet current technical and operational requirements.

Isartal has already completed the first phase of the work—the vessel was undocked last week and moored alongside the shipyard quay. “The implementation of the Isartal repair project is another example of the trust shipowners place in our yard when it comes to professional repair and modernization services,” the shipyard commented.

Located in Gdańsk on Ostrów Island, Safe Shipyard currently focuses on the repair and modernization of small and medium-sized vessels. One of the facility’s strengths is a floating dock that is 150 meters long with an internal width of 24.70 meters, equipped with 5-ton cranes. Safe also has quays with a total length of 300 meters, where a 30-ton crane operates. In 2025, the shipyard has already completed several contracts, including work on tankers and a patrol vessel.
