ONE Launches IBX Linking Iberian Peninsula with Gdynia and Gdańsk
Date of publication: 15.06.2026

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has launched Iberia Baltic Express (IBX), a new weekly container shipping service connecting ports in the Iberian Peninsula with the Baltic Sea region. The service includes direct calls at Gdańsk and Gdynia, significantly strengthening Poland's position as a key logistics hub in the region.

The IBX rotation is: Leixões → Lisbon → Southampton → Rotterdam → Gdańsk → Riga → Klaipėda → Gdynia → Bremerhaven → Rotterdam → Leixões. The service commenced operations in May 2026 and operates on a weekly basis. Vessels with capacities ranging from approximately 1,000 to 1,800 TEU provide regular sailings along the route.

Gdańsk is one of the first Baltic ports on the northbound leg of the service, enabling the rapid delivery of cargo from Portugal and Spain, via Leixões and Lisbon, with minimal transhipment requirements. Gdynia, meanwhile, is the final Baltic port of call before vessels return to the major Northern European hubs, offering flexible logistics solutions for exporters and importers from the Pomeranian region and inland Poland.

The new service reduces transit times between Portugal and Poland by eliminating the need for additional transhipments at Western European ports. It represents a significant enhancement of ONE's offering in the Polish market. Alongside existing feeder services calling at Gdynia, customers now benefit from direct access to Southern Europe.

The service is expected to be particularly attractive for the food, automotive, chemicals and consumer goods sectors, where fast and direct transport links between Portugal and Poland are of critical importance.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) is one of the world's leading container shipping operators, providing integrated logistics solutions across global markets. The company is widely recognised for its distinctive deep-magenta vessels and containers.
